Charter Type: Sheltered Waters
Maria Island is a large island near Orford on the lower East Coast. Between the mainland and the island is known as the Mercury Passage. Common species include sand flathead, australian salmon and squid.
Charters can depart from Triabunna or Orford.
Charter Type: Offshore
On the eastern side of the island is some amazing scenery with high sea cliffs and waterfalls. Southern bluefin tuna are a regular catch from early in the year through to winter. Albacore tuna and mako sharks can be caught from January into mid Autumn. Tiger flathead are a common catch while bottom fishing here and make a great sustainable table fish.
Charters can depart from Dunalley, Orford and Triabunna.
